About Me…

My work is deeply shaped by a lifelong relationship with making and by the women and makers who came before me. Growing up surrounded by embroidery, dressmaking, lace, watercolor, and handwork, I learned early that creativity can carry memory, comfort, and connection. Those materials and traditions still sit at the heart of my practice today. Each piece I create feels, in some way, like a conversation with both inheritance and identity — holding together the places I have come from and the life I now live.”

Rachel is a Dallas-based mixed media artist originally from Devon, England. Her work explores the relationship between place, memory, and materials — drawing inspiration from organic formations, layered landscapes, and the quiet rhythms found in nature.

Combining, watercolor, vintage textiles and thread on raw canvas, she creates textured works that explores themes of growth, repair, restraint, and becoming.

Her practice is slow and contemplative, embodying transformation that unfolds gradually over time.

With a background in education and neuroscience, her work is also informed by an interest in the growing movement to embrace the restorative power of creativity within our own DNA.

The Studio

The Rachel Larlee Studio is in the heart of East Dallas in Casa Linda. The studio opens its doors for classes and workshops. When she's not creating new mixed media pieces, Rachel loves helping other artists grow their creative practice. Rachel moved from England 10 years ago and very much has the English feel in her studio. She displays her work alongside pieces she shipped over and her studio is full of treasures. Rachel is excited for her studio to inspire and encourage; every corner is filled with unusual storage solutions next to the latest in modern home decoration.
